Applications are invited for the position of Mace-bearer to the above council. Duties include attending the Mayor Making Ceremony (during the month of May) and the Remembrance Sunday Service (the nearest Sunday to 11 November). The person appointed will need to be smartly dressed for their duties, gentlemen – suit and tie, ladies – smart suit. The Mace-bearer is awarded an annual sum of £140 for their duties.

Works to refurbish the tennis courts will commence on 22 August to improve the tennis facilities in King George V Playing Fields on Gwbert Road.
During this time the courts will be unavailable for use – works will take approximately 8 weeks to complete but may be delayed due to weather. Following the asphalt works there is a minimum curing period of 3 weeks (weather dependant), until painting can be applied to the new surface once painting is completed a further 7 days curing is required before opening.
